Coos County, OR – Three people, including a 4-month-old infant, were killed Saturday afternoon when an eastbound SUV crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound Subaru on Highway 42 in Myrtle Point, according to Oregon State Police.
The deceased parties were identified as 32-year-old James Edward Price of Myrtle Point, 20-year-old Genevieve Marie Huffaker of Coquille, and a 4-month-old female infant. The at-fault driver, identified as 69-year-old Gregory Paul Olson of Myrtle Point, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said a silver Land Rover LR3, driven by Gregory Olson, was traveling eastbound at high speed when the driver lost control and crossed into the westbound lanes. The SUV then collided head-on with a blue Subaru Forester that was towing a jet ski.
The Subaru driver, James Price, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Genevieve Huffaker, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.
The 4-month-old girl, who was also traveling in the Subaru, was transported to a Portland-area hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Olson suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized.
According to investigators, Olson had earlier attempted to leave a local business without paying for merchandise. A Myrtle Point police officer was attempting to contact him when Olson drove away, leading to the events that preceded the fatal collision.
Oregon State Police continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
