Yuma, AZ – A 65-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon after his motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a semi-truck in Yuma, according to the Yuma Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:31 p.m. on September 16 in the 4700 block of South Avenue 3E.

Police said the man was riding a 2017 Honda Goldwing motorcycle southbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the centerline into the northbound lanes. The motorcycle then collided with the rear tires of a northbound semi-truck.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver, a 39-year-old man, was not reported injured.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, according to police.

The fatal crash remains under investigation by the Yuma Police Department.
