Riverside, CA – Two boys who were hospitalized last month after they were hit by a car while riding an e-scooter and an e-motorcycle in Riverside died from their injuries, authorities reported.
The two 14-year-old teens were involved in the collision around 7:46 p.m. on August 25, at Arlington Avenue and Mitchell Avenue.
According to Riverside police, the boys were riding an e-scooter and an e-motorcycle in the area when they attempted to cross Arlington Avenue and were struck by a Lexus sedan entering the intersection.
Both riders were taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
Riverside police said both victims died last week.
The 88-year-old driver of the Lexus stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Riverside, CA – Two juveniles were sent to the hospital with severe injuries after they were hit by a car while riding an e-bike and an e-scooter Tuesday evening at an intersection in Riverside, police reported.
The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on August 25, 2026, at Mitchell Avenue and Arlington Avenue.
According to the Riverside Police Department, two minors were riding an e-bike and an e-scooter south on Mitchell Avenue when they were struck by a car traveling west on Arlington Avenue.
The e-scooter became wedged underneath the vehicle’s front bumper, and the e-bike was located near a sidewalk. The car sustained a shattered windshield.
Both riders were hospitalized with major injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours while authorities investigated.
