Riverside, CA – Authorities identified 14-year-old Fabian Carmona and 14-year-old Noe Ramirez-Lopez as the two teens who died days after they were struck by a vehicle while riding an e-scooter and an e-motorcycle last month at a Riverside intersection.
The accident happened around 7:46 a.m. on August 25, 2026, at Arlington and Mitchell avenues.
Both teens were traveling southbound on Mitchell Avenue, one riding an e-scooter and the other an e-motorcycle, when they tried to cross the intersection.
The riders were struck by a Lexus sedan driven by an 88-year-old man.
Emergency personnel took the victims to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital with critical injuries, where they remained on life support.
On September 16, authorities reported that Carmona later died from his injuries on August 30, and Ramirez-Lopez died from his injuries on September 2.

Riverside, CA – Two juveniles were sent to the hospital with severe injuries after they were hit by a car while riding an e-bike and an e-scooter Tuesday evening at an intersection in Riverside, police reported.
The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on August 25, 2026, at Mitchell Avenue and Arlington Avenue.
According to the Riverside Police Department, two minors were riding an e-bike and an e-scooter south on Mitchell Avenue when they were struck by a car traveling west on Arlington Avenue.
The e-scooter became wedged underneath the vehicle’s front bumper, and the e-bike was located near a sidewalk. The car sustained a shattered windshield.
Both riders were hospitalized with major injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours while authorities investigated.
