Riverside, CA – One person died, and another was injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving a wrong-way driver that happened Sunday morning in Riverside, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash involved at least three vehicles, including one that was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found one person trapped inside their vehicle and another person on the ground with major injuries. The firefighters immediately began performing CPR on one of the victims.
One person died at the scene, as per the report.
Authorities closed the Nos. 1, 2, and 3 lanes of the freeway, as well as the 14th Street on-ramp to the eastbound 91 Freeway. Motorists were being diverted off the freeway at University Avenue and 14th Street.
