Police reported that a 62-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Hayward man.

Hayward, CA – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while riding a bicycle at an intersection in Hayward early Monday morning.
According to the Hayward Police Department, the incident took place near Harder and Soto roads shortly after midnight on Monday, August 31.
Police reported that a 62-year-old man was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 52-year-old Hayward man.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. His name was not released in the police report.
The driver who struck the bicyclist stayed at the scene and was cooperatve with law enforcement.
According to the report, alcohol and drugs were not believed to have factored in the incident.
The Hayward Police Department is still working to determine the cause of the collision.
