Norwalk, CA – One person was killed and two others were injured following a multi-vehicle crash caused by street racing in Norwalk early Tuesday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The violent 16-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, on Rosecrans Avenue near Longworth Avenue.
According to authorities, the crash involved five moving vehicles and 11 parked cars. One overturned and came to rest on its roof after the collision.
One driver, believed to have been inside the overturned vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were injured in the incident.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the scene and investigated the collision. The collision damaged 11 parked vehicles.
Rosecrans Avenue was closed between Studebaker Road and Harvest Avenue as deputies conducted their investigation.
The fatal crash remains under investigation. Investigators are examining whether the crash may have been connected to street racing.
