Los Angeles, CA – A 33-year-old mother of two was killed after a speeding Mercedes-Maybach SUV crashed into her vehicle in Koreatown early Friday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The deceased woman has since been identified as Ittai Rodriguez.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Friday at Ardmore Avenue and 8th Street.

According to police, the Mercedes-Maybach was traveling southbound on Ardmore Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck Rodriguez’s vehicle. Rodriguez was driving westbound on 8th Street while making a food delivery. The impact sent her vehicle spinning out of control and into a street pole.

Rodriguez was pulled from her vehicle and received CPR at the scene but died from her injuries. Police took the Mercedes-Maybach driver into custody after the crash.

The Mercedes driver continued after striking Rodriguez’s vehicle, hit a street light and several parked cars, then stopped on the sidewalk. A fire hydrant was also sheared off during the collision, sending water into the air.
