Lake Elsinore, CA — The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has released the identities of two people killed in a two-vehicle crash in Lake Elsinore Tuesday night.
The victims were identified as 56-year-old Joseph Collins of Wildomar and 22-year-old Andry Morales. Collins was driving a Toyota Camry, while Morales was driving a Chevrolet Camaro.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Grand Avenue and Gregory Place.
According to CHP, the Camry and Camaro were involved in the collision. One vehicle struck a traffic sign pole, and both cars came to rest blocking the intersection. One of the drivers was reportedly trapped inside a vehicle following the crash.
Collins was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with injuries sustained in the collision and later died. Morales also succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash. Two passengers in the Camaro, a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, suffered major injuries and were hospitalized.
The circumstances that led to the collision have not been released. CHP did not provide information indicating whether alcohol, drugs, or speed were contributing factors.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and assisted those involved in the crash. Crews also worked to free the driver who was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
The fatal crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
