Huntington Beach, CA. – A man in a wheelchair died after being struck by a car on Tuesday afternoon in Huntington Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2 p.m. at Skylab Road and Able Lane.

The 74-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was crossing southbound on Skylab Road and was struck by an eastbound Honda.

The Westminster man was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The 45-year-old Los Angeles man driving the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The driver did not appear impaired.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
