Victorville, CA — One of the two people who were killed in a major three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ridgecrest Road and Elmwood Drive in Victorville Friday night has been identified, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The San Bernardino County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 17-year-old Maddalyn Dailey of Victorville. The second victim was identified only as a 16-year-old Hesperia resident.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at Elmwood Drive and Ridgecrest Road. The CHP responded to the scene following reports of a traffic collision involving three vehicles.

According to the CHP, two vehicles were traveling northbound on Ridgecrest Road at a high rate of speed when an Acura pulled out in front of them while making a left turn from Elmwood Road.

CHP said a yellow Chevrolet Camaro and a black Dodge Charger had been seen racing in the area before the crash.

Dailey and the 16-year-old passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene. Information provided did not specify which vehicles the victims occupied.

The crash caused extensive damage, leaving burned and mangled wreckage scattered across the roadway. Firefighters responded to the scene to extinguish flames, while CHP investigators worked to document and process the collision.

The roadway was shut down for several hours as investigators examined the wreckage and gathered evidence, causing a significant traffic disruption in the area.
