Clearlake Oaks, CA – The man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Monday evening in Clearlake Oaks has been identified by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Larry Wayne Monahan, 67, of Clearlake Oaks, was killed in the collision that took place at around 7 p.m. on August 3, on State Route 20, west of Lakeland Street.
According to the investigators, Monahan was attempting to walk northbound across SR 20 when he was hit by a 2015 Hyundai traveling westbound.
After the crash, the Hyundai slammed into a lamppost at the north corner of the intersection.
Authorities reported that Monahan was killed in the collision.
The driver of the Hyundai, Arthur Franklin Burr Jr., 82, of Lucerne, was treated for moderate injuries at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle, Tena Marie Partini, 69, of Lucerne, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Adventist Health.
According to CHP, DUI was suspected to have factored in the crash and Burr was arrested at the scene. The accident remained under investigation.
