Danville, CA – One person was hospitalized after two separate collisions that happened in the same area early Monday morning on Interstate 680, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities were notified about a crash just before 5:30 a.m. on August 3, 2026, on northbound I-680 just south of the Sycamore Valley Road on-ramp.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision under unclear circumstances. Shortly after the initial crash, two other vehicles were also involved in a crash, including one that possibly slammed into the initial collision scene.
Both collisions resulted in minor injuries. At least one person was transported to the hospital by responding firefighters.
A gray Toyota Camry and a small black Toyota sedan were towed away from the scene.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
