The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:41 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, near milepost 11 on Highway 226.

Linn County, OR – A 29-year-old Gates man was killed Friday night after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck on Highway 226 in Linn County, according to Oregon State Police (OSP).
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:41 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, near milepost 11 on Highway 226.
OSP said 77-year-old Arthur Vernon Roberts of Lebanon was driving a blue Ford F-350 westbound on Highway 226 when he slowed to turn south onto Richardson Gap Road. As Roberts made the turn, he entered the path of an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Tanner Kolten Henderson, 29, of Gates.
The motorcycle struck the front end of the Ford pickup, causing the motorcycle and Henderson to land in a ditch off the roadway. The pickup came to rest in the roadway, blocking the intersection.
Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roberts was not injured in the crash. He remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Highway 226 was impacted for approximately two hours while authorities conducted the on-scene investigation.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further information was available for release.
The Oregon State Police was assisted by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Fire District, and Oregon Department of Transportation.
