San Mateo County, CA – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in the El Granada area of San Mateo County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The pedestrian was struck by an SUV under unclear circumstances.
Firefighters responded to the scene and provided medical aid to the unresponsive victim.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators closed southbound SR-1 at Capistrano Road during the investigation.
