According to the authorities, the wreck happened at around 10 p.m. on July 24, in the area near State Route 51 and Glendale Avenue.
Investigators reported that a driver in an SUV drove out of a parking lot heading north and crashed through a perimeter fence. The SUV then crashed into a parked Phoenix Police Department Tahoe.
The impact of the accident caused a police officer to be ejected from the Tahoe.
The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the authorities, the driver of the SUV was suspected to have been impaired at the time of the accident.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
