Burien, WA – Four people were injured in a collision involving a King County Metro Bus in Burien early Monday morning, according to the authorities.

The wreck took place on Ambaum Boulevard S.W. and S.W. 126th Street shortly after 2 a.m. July 20.

Preliminary reports indicate that a car lost control at the intersection, spun, and slammed into a RapidRide H line bus traveling northbound on Ambaum Boulevard.

The impact forced the bus off the right side of the road and it crashed into a tree.

The King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the site of the accident shortly after. The driver of the bus and three passengers aboard the bus were all taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The driver of the car reportedly fled on foot after the crash but was located shortly after and arrested.

It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident. An investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office is still ongoing.
