Avondale, AZ – A pedestrian was hit and killed by vehicles early Friday morning in Avondale, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m. July 30, authorities received reports of a collision on Interstate 10 near Avondale Boulevard.
Preliminary reports indicate that a man was hit by multiple vehicles in the eastbound lanes of I-10. It’s unclear why the pedestrian was on the freeway.
The pedestrian, only identified by the AZDPS as a man, was declared deceased at the site of the accident.
There were no details provided on the drivers or vehicles involved in the accident.
The eastbound lanes of I-10 were temporarily shut down as authorities investigated the deadly incident.
