Phoenix, AZ – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle late Thursday night in Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The wreck took place at about 10:45 p.m. October 8, on Interstate 10 near milepost 136.

According to AZDPS, a pedestrian was pushing a bicycle across I-10 when they were hit by a vehicle in the eastbound lanes.

The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Preliminary reports indicate that alcohol and drugs were not suspected as factors in the incident.

There were no additional details on the collision. An investigation into the crash is underway.
