The fatal collision occurred just before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, along Interstate 10 in west Phoenix.

Phoenix, AZ – A Wisconsin man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in west Phoenix on Sunday, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The fatal collision occurred just before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, along Interstate 10 in west Phoenix.
Investigators said 23-year-old Andie Stehley of Tempe was speeding in a Kia sedan when she changed lanes and struck a Toyota Highlander. The Toyota then collided with a Scion SUV, spun out of control, and crashed into an exit sign pole.
The driver of the Toyota, Michael Byington of Wisconsin, became trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the Toyota sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Scion was not injured.
Authorities arrested Stehley following the crash. She was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on charges including second-degree homicide, endangerment, and criminal damage. Investigators believe she may have been impaired by alcohol or drugs at the time of the collision.
The crash closed portions of Interstate 10 for several hours while authorities conducted the on-scene investigation. The incident remains under investigation.
