Vail, AZ. – A driver and a child were killed in a car accident on Friday evening.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 6:06 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 at milepost 291.
A sedan with three occupants was driving in the number one lane when it crashed into a semi-truck that was slowing down due to road construction.
The driver of the sedan and a 3-year-old child were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 6-year-old passenger of the sedan was taken to a hospital in Benson with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
