Clark County, WA – A 39-year-old man was killed after an all-terrain vehicle collided with an SUV at an intersection in Clark County late Saturday night, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 4 at the intersection of NE 76th Street and NE 137th Avenue.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2008 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on NE 76th Street and attempting to turn left onto northbound NE 137th Avenue when it collided with a 2003 Kawasaki ATV traveling westbound.

The ATV rider, a 39-year-old man, was not wearing a helmet or other protective equipment at the time of the collision. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office following notification of the next of kin.

Investigators believe alcohol impairment may have been a contributing factor for the ATV rider.

The driver of the Ford Escape remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the fatal collision.
