Wellton, AZ – Jasen Jones Killed, 1 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on E County 10th Street and S Avenue 22E in Wellton

Wellton, AZ – Jasen Michael Jones, 56, of Yuma, has been identified as a driver killed in a traffic collision on Thursday morning on E County 10th Street in Wellton.

The Wellton Police Department received reports regarding the accident at around 7:08 a.m. on July 2, 2026, on E County 10th Street and S Avenue 22E.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a semi-truck was travelling southbound on the S Avenue 22E when a GMC Sierra 1500 failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of E County 10th Street, causing both cars to collide.

Jones, who was operating the Sierra, was declared dead at the scene, while the truck driver was rushed to Onvida Health with non-life-threatening injuries for treatment.
