The driver of the Nissan and her female passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Delano, CA – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Delano on Sunday night.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gilbert Pena Galarza Jr., a 21-year-old resident of Earlimart.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:12 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, at the intersection of Pond Road and Stradley Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Galarza Jr. was riding a 2012 Honda CBR600 motorcycle westbound on Pond Road when a 2014 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 58-year-old Delano woman, attempted to turn left onto northbound Stradley Avenue.
Investigators said the Nissan turned into the rider’s path, and Galarza Jr. was unable to avoid the collision. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the SUV.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and declared Galarza Jr. dead.
