The California Highway Patrol reported that Park was walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle.

Los Angeles, CA – Authorities have released the identity of a man who was hit and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in downtown Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles medical examiner’s office, Myong Park, 78, died following the accident that took place on the Hollywood (101) Freeway, just south of Alameda Street at around 3:30 a.m. June 20.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Park was walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway when he was hit by a vehicle. Authorities were still trying to determine why the pedestrian was in the roadway.
According to the report, Park was declared deceased at the site of the collision.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene after the collision. There were no reports of any arrests in connection with the incident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
