Bellevue, WA – A 40-year-old America George from Marysville died in a motorcycle accident that happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 90 near Bellevue.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on June 14, 2026, in the westbound lanes of I-90 near the Interstate 405 interchange.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was riding a motorcycle westbound when the traffic ahead of her started to slow down. The motorcyclist, however, did not slow down in time and slammed into the rear of a Kia sedan driven by a 57-year-old Woodinville man. The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the bike onto the traffic lanes, where she was struck by a Toyota Camry driven by a 49-year-old Issaquah man.
The woman died in the accident.
Authorities said “following too close” was a contributing factor.
WSP closed multiple lanes of I-90 while they investigated. The closure caused a two-mile traffic backup as of 3:45 p.m. The lanes were reopened after authorities finished working the scene.
