Police said the woman was crossing the street from north to south outside a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a 2020 Volkswagen Passat traveling eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard.
San Diego, CA – A 62-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle late Friday night in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred in the 2600 block of El Cajon Boulevard near Hamilton Street, around 11:40 p.m. on June 5, 2026.
Police said the woman was crossing the street from north to south outside a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a 2020 Volkswagen Passat traveling eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The 42-year-old man driving the car stopped and remained at the scene.
Investigators do not believe impairment was a contributing factor.
The crash is under investigation by SDPD’s Traffic Division.
