Bakersfield, CA – A man died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorized bicycle Wednesday evening in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred just before 8 p.m. on June 3, 2026, at Brundage Lane and A Street.
Bakersfield police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash and found the man with severe injuries.
The paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police officers determined that the victim was riding a motorized bicycle on Brundage Lane when he entered the intersection with A Street against a red light.
At the same time, a woman was driving a car southbound on A Street when she struck the man.
The driver stopped and remained at the scene after the crash.
Speed, drugs, and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
