Jurupa Valley, CA – A semi-truck driver died when two big rigs collided early Monday morning at an intersection in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The wreck occurred around 4:25 a.m., June 1, at Etiwanda Avenue and Inland Avenue, less than a mile east of the Interstate 15 and 60 Freeway interchange.
According to the sheriff’s department, the accident happened when two big rigs entered the intersection at the same time and collided.
Responding emergency personnel found one of the drivers on the ground with major injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was transported to a regional trauma center with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Authorities did not immediately identify the cause of the collision, but drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.
