Jurupa Valley, CA – Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on the 60 Freeway in Jurupa Valley Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened at about 3:33 p.m. on the westbound 60 Freeway at Valley Way, CHP officials said.
A tractor-trailer, three sedans, and a pickup truck were involved in the crash. The impact caused the big rig to stall, blocking at least three lanes, while debris and fluids from the other vehicles spread across adjacent lanes, resulting in a full closure of the westbound side, authorities said.
Three individuals were transported to Riverside Community Hospital with minor injuries. No fatalities or arrests were reported.
Riverside County Fire Department crews responded about 30 minutes after the crash and located all involved parties outside of their vehicles. Emergency personnel worked to assist the injured and clear the roadway.
The crash prompted a SigAlert at approximately 3:54 p.m., with traffic backing up past the 60/91/215 interchange as all westbound lanes were shut down for more than 90 minutes.
All lanes were reopened around 5:10 p.m. after crews cleared the wreckage and treated fluid spills, restoring normal traffic flow. The incident remains under investigation.
