Fairfield, CA – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a multi-vehicle collision Friday morning on Interstate 80 in Fairfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 9:04 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80, just east of the Travis Boulevard off-ramp.
According to CHP incident logs, the collision involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a white truck, and at least one additional vehicle. Initial reports indicated the motorcyclist had been speeding before crashing into the rear of another vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and located the rider down on the roadway. CHP said the motorcyclist sustained major injuries in the incident.
The freeway lanes were blocked during the emergency response and investigation. All lanes were reopened by approximately 9:59 a.m.
