Hawthorne, CA – Authorities have identified the man who died in a multi-vehicle collision about 10 days ago at an intersection in Hawthorne.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 30-year-old Dashawn Coleman of Las Vegas.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:48 a.m. on May 17, 2026, in the area of Imperial Highway and Inglewood Avenue, according to the Hawthorne Police Department.

Officers from the Hawthorne Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to the scene and found several injured people after four vehicles collided. Police said two occupants had to be extricated from one of the vehicles.

Four people were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. One of the patients, later identified as Coleman, died from his injuries at the hospital. Two other patients were reported to be in extremely critical condition, authorities said.

The Hawthorne Police Department Traffic Bureau responded to the scene and continues to investigate the fatal crash.
