Authorities reported that a man was hit by a light rail train on Metro’s A Line. Details on the circumstances of the collision, including why the pedestrian was on the tracks, were not immediately available.
The LAFD crews arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced the victim deceased.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Rafael Cruz, 60.
No one on the train reported any injuries in the incident.
The light rail services were suspended between the Highland Park and Fillmore stations as authorities investigated the incident.
