Norwalk, CA – A 57-year-old man was hit and killed by a truck in Norwalk on Tuesday evening, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
At around 8:41 p.m. May 5, authorities responded to reports of a deadly collision in the area of Shoemaker Avenue and Alondra Boulevard.
Authorities reported that a homeless man was struck by a UPS truck in the street. The circumstances under which the incident happened were not immediately established.
Deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel arrived at the site of the accident within minutes and located the pedestrian.
The victim was confirmed deceased at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Arthur Honomichl, 57.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
