Los Angeles, CA – At least one person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 710 in East Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on the southbound I-710 just north of Slauson Avenue at approximately 7:25 p.m. on April 29.
Preliminary investigation findings indicate that a gray Honda Civic traveling at a high rate of speed lost control and struck the center divider before crashing into another vehicle.
Initial reports stated that the vehicle also crashed into several other vehicles, but the CHP later confirmed that only two vehicles were involved in the incident.
At least one person suffered major injuries and was transported to Huntington Park Hospital for treatment. No arrests have been reported.
Emergency responders, including Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, arrived at the scene to assist the injured and manage the incident.
The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, with all lanes temporarily held before authorities worked to clear the roadway and remove damaged vehicles.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol
