Leimert Park, CA – A Los Angeles Police Department officer and two children were injured after a suspected DUI driver crashed into a patrol unit in Leimert Park early Sunday morning, according to the authorities.
The two-vehicle collision occurred near the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and West Obama Boulevard at around 3:23 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Authorities said the incident happened when a vehicle traveling in the area collided head-on with a marked LAPD patrol unit.
One officer and two children sustained unspecified injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. LAPD reported that the officer was in stable condition. No information was immediately available regarding the condition of the two children.
The driver of the civilian vehicle was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. Authorities believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the head-on collision.
