Troutdale, OR – One person died, and another suffered critical injuries after a fiery collision involving a sedan and a semi-truck early Tuesday morning in Troutdale, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at about 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest Marine Drive and Sundial Road.
Investigators said a white sedan collided with a semi-truck, and the passenger vehicle erupted into flames following the collision.
One occupant of the sedan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person sustained critical injuries and was transported for emergency medical treatment.
Officials temporarily shut down eastbound lanes near Dunbar Road and westbound lanes at Sundial Road as deputies and firefighters worked to investigate the collision and clean up the fuel that spilled across the roadway.
A medical examiner was requested to the scene, and tow crews responded to remove the damaged vehicles and debris.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim pending notification of family members.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
