Tempe, CA – One person was injured in a fiery multi-vehicle collision that took place in Tempe on Friday afternoon.
According to a report by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened on Loop 101 Freeway near milepost 53 on Friday, May 22.
Authorities reported that four vehicles were involved in the accident on the northbound side of the freeway. The exact circumstances under which the wreck happened were yet to be established.
One of the vehicles burst into flames following the collision.
According to AZDPS, one person sustained minor injuries in the accident. It’s unclear whether the patient was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
The southbound lanes of the freeway were expected to be shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
