Santa Clara, CA – Investigations are underway after a female Santa Clara University student was hit and injured by a vehicle at an intersection in Santa Clara on Tuesday morning.
According to the Campus Safety Officers, authorities were notified at around 11:40 a.m. May 19, to the accident in the area of El Camino Real at Acolti Way and Campbell Avenue.
Authorities reported that the student was walking across El Camino Real when she was hit by a white. It’s unclear whether the victim was in the crosswalk when she was hit.
Emergency responded arrived at the scene within minutes and rendered aid to the injured pedestrian.
Medics transported the victim to a hospital for further treatment and was expected to recover.
The identities of the involved driver and the pedestrian were not released.
Authorities did not specify whether impairment or speed played any role. No arrests in connection with the incident were reported.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and additional details are expected to be released.
