Santa Clarita, CA – Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on SR-14 near Newhall Avenue

Santa Clarita, CA – At least one person was injured in a motorcycle crash on State Route 14 in Santa Clarita on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred on northbound SR-14, just south of Newhall Avenue at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Preliminary reports indicate the crash involved a motorcycle and an SUV, possibly a blue Ford, in the fast lane. The motorcyclist was reportedly traveling northbound when the collision occurred, leaving the rider down in the roadway. The motorcycle also may have struck another vehicle, described as an older Chevrolet, in the No. 1 lane.

The rider sustained injuries and was found down in the fast lane. The extent of injuries has not been confirmed, but the individual was transported to a nearby for treatment. No other injuries were immediately reported, and there was no indication of any arrests.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, and several motorists initially stopped to assist the injured rider. Authorities also requested towing services to remove the damaged motorcycle from the roadway.

The crash blocked the HOV and No. 1 lanes, causing traffic to slow and stop in the area as crews worked to clear the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
