Santa Clarita, CA – Two people were injured late Friday morning following a rollover crash involving a tow truck and a box truck on State Route 14 in Newhall, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:05 a.m., January 2, on the southbound lanes of SR-14 near Sierra Highway and Dockweiler Drive.
Investigators said the tow truck, which was carrying a vehicle on its flatbed, collided with a box truck. The tow truck then left the freeway and landed on dirt near the surface streets, while the box truck overturned and remained on the roadway.
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews extricated the driver and a passenger from the tow truck and transported them to a hospital with minor injuries. No injuries were reported from the box truck.
The No. 4 lane of southbound traffic remained closed for guardrail repairs.
The crash remains under investigation by CHP.
