A report by the California Highway Patrol indicates that the crash took place on State Route 14 near Newhall Avenue at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.
Preliminary reports show that a motorcyclist was hit by a dark-colored SUV in the fast lane on the northbound freeway. The circumstances under which the crash happened were yet to be established.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene within minutes and rendered aid to the motorcyclist.
The rider was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. The rider’s identity was not immediately released.
There were no other injuries in the incident and no arrests were announced.
