Corona, CA – Injuries were reported in a crash involving multiple vehicles on the 91 Freeway in Corona on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported just before 8:30 a.m. April 9, on the freeway near McKinley Street.
A preliminary investigation determined that a sedan, an SUV, and a green Rivian vehicle were involved in the accident. The Rivian vehicle burst into flames after the collision.
The California Highway Patrol officers and crews with the Corona Fire Department responded to the scene and attended to the involved parties.
There were reports of injuries in connection with the incident. The number of those hurt and the extent of their injuries were not specified in the CHP report.
The eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway were shut down for an unspecified period of time while authorities examined and cleared the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is still working to find out what led up to the accident.
