According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly wreck happened shortly after 5 a.m. on March 27, 2026, on Interstate 10 at Mesa Drive

Blythe, CA – The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner has identified a woman killed in a crash on the 10 Freeway in Blythe, on Friday morning, as 43-year-old Natalia Silva of Chino Hills.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly wreck happened shortly after 5 a.m. on March 27, 2026, on Interstate 10 at Mesa Drive.
Reportedly, a red 2026 Kia sedan was traveling on the eastbound freeway at an unconfirmed speed when, for reasons unknown, the driver drifted off the roadway, struck a guard rail, and became disabled within the No. 1 lane.
At the same time, a 2019 Volkswagen was traveling in the No. 1 lane at an unconfirmed speed and could not avoid the Kia in time, hitting the sedan.
Silva, a passenger inside the sedan, was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated.
Silva was declared dead at the crash site.
A passenger inside the Volkswagen was rushed to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio with minor injuries.
More information about the crash was not provided.
An investigation is underway.
