At about 3:30 p.m. March 17, authorities responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian accident on Margarita Road near Rancho Vista Road

Temecula, CA – A minor was struck and injured by a vehicle near Temecula Valley High School in Temecula on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 3:30 p.m. March 17, authorities responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian accident on Margarita Road near Rancho Vista Road.
At the scene, deputies located an unresponsive minor down in the roadway. The victim had reportedly been hit by a vehicle under unclear circumstances.
Cal Fire/ Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene and attended to the injured pedestrian.
Medics transported the victim to a landing zone, where they were airlifted to Loma Linda Hospital. The victim was listed in critical condition.
The involved motorist was at the scene when authorities arrived. The driver was not suspected to have been impaired.
Authorities reported that the victim is a student at the Temecula Valley High School but their identity was not immediately released.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
