Hanford, CA – A woman was killed in a car accident that took place on Dover Avenue near Hanford on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At around 8:30 p.m. March 14, authorities responded to reports of a multi-vehicle collision just west of Highway 43.
When they got to the scene, CHP found that a woman driving a 2020 Polaris Ranger UTV eastbound on Dover Avenue tried for make a left turn and the UTV was hit on the left side by a 2019 Toyota Camry that was trying to overtake it.
The woman driving the Polaris was ejected from the vehicle by the impact of the accident. Authorities pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.
Five adult passengers were riding in the UTV at the time of the collision. The passengers had minor to moderate injuries and one of them was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno while a second patient was transported to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford.
The driver of the Camry and passengers in the car were treated for their injuries at the scene.
According to the CHP, impairment by drugs or alcohol was suspected to have played a role in the incident.
No further details were released and the CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
