Tulare County, CA – One person was killed and another injured after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 65 in Tulare County early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 65 and Lindmore Street near Lindsay shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Authorities say a 60-year-old driver operating a Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highway 65 when the driver turned onto Lindmore Street directly in front of a Ford Ranger, and the two vehicles collided head-on.

Following the impact, the Ranger continued south and struck a nearby light pole.

The 29-year-old driver of the Ford Ranger, who officials say was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been publicly released. The driver of the Ram 1500 sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Investigators say drugs or alcohol do not appear to have been contributing factors in the Tulare County crash.

The collision caused disruptions in the area of Highway 65 and Lindmore Street as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.
