90-Year-Old Jack Terrell Killed in Tulare County Crash on Highway 190 near Success Valley Drive

Tulare County, CA – A 90-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision that happened on Highway 190 near Porterville in Tulare County on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities received reports of a collision at around 7:30 a.m. February 9, on the highway east of Success Valley Drive.

Investigators reported that Carter Lee, 20, was driving a GMC on Highway 190 when, for unspecified reasons, he drifted across the centerline and crashed head-on with an oncoming Honda Pilot.

The Honda was carrying 90-year-old Jack Terrell and his wife Lucinda. The two were volunteers for the Tulare County Sheriff’s volunteer Patrol.

The CHP, along with emergecy fire and medical personnel, responded to the incident. Jack was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene by the medics.

Lucinda was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries while Lee was being treated for minor injured following the accident.

The report did not specify whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the incident. At this time, no arrests have been announced.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and no additional details have been released.

Porterville, CA – One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 190 in Porterville on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision occurred westbound on Highway 190 near Eagle Feather Trading Post #1 at approximately 7:31 a.m.

Authorities reported that the crash involved a blue GMC pickup truck and a silver SUV. Initial reports indicated that one vehicle caught fire, while another left the roadway and went into a pasture. Debris was scattered across the westbound lanes following the impact.

One person was fatally injured in the collision. The victim’s identity was not immediately released. Another individual was transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital for medical treatment

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and investigators have not released details regarding contributing factors.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene along with fire crews and emergency medical personnel. Authorities secured the area, coordinated medical transport, and conducted evidence-related operations.
