Spokane, WA – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Division Street in Spokane last month has been identified.
According to the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office, 73-year-old Gregory Rich, died following the incident that occurred at about 6 p.m. on February 18, near the intersection of West Cascade Way.
The Spokane Police Department said officers responded to the scene and located the involved pedestrian, vehicle and the driver. The circumstances under which the vehicle struck the pedestrian were not immediately determined.
Emergency crews performed life-saving measures on the pedestrian but were unsuccessful. Rich was pronounced deceased at the scene. The coroner’s office reported that Rich died of blunt-force injuries and his death was ruled an accident.
The involved driver remained at the scene after the collision and was cooperative with the investigators. As of Tuesday, March 3, no arrests had been announced in connection with the incident.
