A preliminary investigation by the Phoenix Police Department determined that a driver was making a left turn at the intersection when they got into an accident with a second vehicle
Phoenix, AZ – Three people were hospitalized after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision near a Phoenix intersection on Monday night.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the accident was reported at about 9:45 p.m. March 2, on McDowell Road and 67th Avenue.
A preliminary investigation by the Phoenix Police Department determined that a driver was making a left turn at the intersection when they got into an accident with a second vehicle. At least three vehicles were involved in the incident.
Officers and the Phoenix Fire Department crews arrived at the scene shortly after and helped those involved in the crash.
A woman was extricated from one of the vehicles by firefighters. She was then transfered to a hospital with critical injuries.
A man was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Another woman was also transported and was said to be in stable condition. There was no update on the identities of the involved people.
The PPD officers reported that speed is suspected to have been a factor in the incident. It was not confirmed whether impairement played any role.
Additional information on the incident was not immediately provided. Police continue to investigate as they try to figure out the circumstances of the crash.
